This notice explains how Aisha ("I", "me") operating StoryPush at storypush.life collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit the site or write to me. StoryPush is a personal blog, not a company with a data department — but Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) still applies, and I take it seriously even at small scale.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for StoryPush is:

Aisha
Blk 210 Serangoon Avenue 4, #02-156
Singapore 550210
Email: [email protected]
Phone: +65 6228 4302

If you have questions about this notice or wish to exercise your PDPA rights, contact me using the details above. I will respond within a reasonable period, typically within thirty days.

What data I collect

Contact form. When you submit the form on the contact page, I receive your name, email address, and message content. You must tick a consent checkbox before sending. I do not collect payment details — there is nothing to buy here.

Technical logs. Like most websites, the hosting provider may automatically record standard server logs: IP address, browser type, referring page, timestamps, and requested URLs. I do not use these logs to build individual profiles. They help diagnose broken links and basic traffic patterns.

Cookies. This site stores a small consent cookie on your device when you interact with the cookie banner. Optional analytics cookies are only set if you accept them. Details are in the Cookies section below.

Email correspondence. If you email me directly, I keep your message and email address in my inbox for as long as needed to reply and maintain a reasonable record of communication.

Why I use your data (purpose and legal basis)

I process personal data only for clear, legitimate purposes:

  • To read and respond to messages you send via the contact form or email (with your consent at submission).
  • To operate and secure the website, including detecting spam and abuse.
  • To understand aggregate readership if you opt in to analytics cookies — never to sell your data.
  • To comply with applicable law if required.

I do not send marketing newsletters. I do not share your contact details with advertisers. StoryPush has no affiliate links and no sponsored posts.

How long I keep data

Contact form submissions are retained in my email until the conversation is complete and for up to twenty-four months afterwards, unless you ask me to delete them sooner or I need to keep a record for legal reasons. Server logs are managed by the host and typically rotate on their schedule (often thirty to ninety days). Cookie consent preferences expire after six months, after which the banner will ask again.

Who receives your data

StoryPush uses a modest hosting provider to serve pages and deliver email. These processors handle data on my instructions to run the site. I do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. I may disclose information if required by Singapore law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of others — though nothing on a personal blog should ever make that likely.

Transfers outside Singapore

Depending on where the hosting servers are located, your data may be processed outside Singapore. When that happens, I expect providers to apply appropriate safeguards consistent with PDPA requirements. You may contact me for more detail about current hosting locations.

Cookies explained

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. StoryPush uses:

  • Essential cookies — required for remembering your cookie choice. These always run because the site cannot honour preferences without them.
  • Analytics cookies (optional) — if enabled, may collect anonymised or pseudonymised usage statistics such as page views and session duration. You can reject these via the banner without losing access to content.

Your choice is stored in a cookie named for this site and persists for six months. You can clear cookies anytime through your browser settings; the banner will reappear on your next visit.

Your rights under the PDPA

Subject to exceptions in the Act, you may:

  • Ask whether I hold personal data about you and receive a copy.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Withdraw consent for contact-form processing (this may mean I cannot continue replying).
  • Request deletion where retention is no longer necessary.

To make a request, email [email protected] with enough detail for me to identify your record. I may need to verify your identity before acting. If you believe I have handled your data improperly, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore after giving me a chance to resolve the matter.

Children

StoryPush is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under thirteen. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child contacted me, please get in touch and I will delete the information.

Security

No website can promise perfect security. I use HTTPS where available, keep software reasonably updated, and restrict inbox access to myself. Please do not send sensitive information such as NRIC numbers, bank account details, or medical records through the contact form.

Spam and honeypots

The contact form includes a hidden field ("website") that humans should leave blank. Automated bots that fill it are silently discarded. This protects my inbox without tracking you across the web.

Links to other sites

Occasionally I may link to external pages (public transport info, library catalogues, etc.). Those sites have their own privacy practices. Read their notices before submitting data there.

Changes to this notice

I may update this page when the site changes or when law evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will change accordingly. Material changes will be noted here in plain language — no buried policy rewrites.

Summary in plain words

StoryPush is small. I collect what you send me, use it to reply, keep it briefly, and don't sell it. Cookies ask permission before doing anything optional. You can write anytime to see or delete what I hold about you.
